Franklin Jameson Archival Advocacy Award Subcommittee of the Society of American Archivists seeks nominations for the 2015 award.<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www2.archivists.org\/governance\/handbook\/section12-jameson\">http:\/\/www2.archivists.org\/governance\/handbook\/section12-jameson<\/a><br \/>\nEstablished in 1989, this award honors an individual, institution, or organization that promotes greater public awareness, appreciation, or support of archival activities or programs.\u00a0 The individual&#8217;s or institution&#8217;s contributions may take the form of advocacy, publicity, legislation, financial support, or a similar action that fosters archival work or raises public consciousness of the importance of archival work.\u00a0 Contributions should have broad, long-term impact at the regional level or beyond. Up to three awards may be given each year.<br \/>\n<strong>Recent Winners:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>2014: <\/strong>LGBT Center of Central PA History Project <em>and<\/em>\u00a0National History Day<\/li>\n<li><strong>2013:\u00a0 <\/strong>Dr. Warren Stewart<\/li>\n<li><strong>2012:<\/strong>\u00a0 Eve Kahn, Bebe Miller, Phillip Stewart<\/li>\n<li><strong>2011:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u201cWho Do You Think You Are?\u201d (NBC)<\/li>\n<li><strong>2010:<\/strong>\u00a0 The Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation<\/li>\n<li><strong>2009:\u00a0 <\/strong>Ross King (Georgia Historical Records Advisory Board)<\/li>\n<li><strong>2008:<\/strong>\u00a0 Data-Intensive Cyber Environments (DICE)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Eligibility:\u00a0<\/strong>Nominees must be from outside the archives profession.\u00a0 Individuals directly involved in archival work, either as paid or volunteer staff, or institutions or organizations directly responsible for an archival program are <em><strong>not<\/strong><\/em> eligible for this award.<br \/>\nMailed materials <strong>must be postmarked by February 28, 2015<\/strong> and should be sent to:<br \/>\nJ.
