{"id":13089,"date":"2015-06-23T10:58:43","date_gmt":"2015-06-23T15:58:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.conservators-converse.org\/?p=13089"},"modified":"2015-06-23T10:58:43","modified_gmt":"2015-06-23T15:58:43","slug":"survey-know-anyone-using-display-cases-or-glazed-frames","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/resources.culturalheritage.org\/conservators-converse\/2015\/06\/23\/survey-know-anyone-using-display-cases-or-glazed-frames\/","title":{"rendered":"Survey: &quot;Know anyone using display cases or glazed frames?&quot;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.conservators-converse.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Exhibit-Enclosure-environments-logo.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-13091\" src=\"http:\/\/www.conservators-converse.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Exhibit-Enclosure-environments-logo-150x150.gif\" alt=\"Survey logo\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>University of Warwick SURVEY INVITATION FOR:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cUsers of display cases &amp; glazed frames for local environmental control of indoor heritage collections\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This survey (<em>closing July 1st<\/em>) aims to capture the recent behaviours &amp; opinions of enclosure users from around the world \u2013 at a time of changing environmental guidelines.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">It takes 20 \u2013 30 minutes depending on the respondent\u2019s experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Heritage conservators, registrars, curators etc are encouraged to consider completing the survey and to forward this announcement to colleagues in their workplace, region &amp; international networks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The survey is looking for responses from people around the world working for heritage institutions of all sizes &amp; types, and with any level of experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A conservator researching heritage microclimates at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom designed the survey.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">It was tested with conservators &amp; scientists working for metropolitan and regional institutions in the United Kingdom &amp; France:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The British Museum<\/li>\n<li>C2RMF, Louvre Museum<\/li>\n<li>Museum of London<\/li>\n<li>English Heritage<\/li>\n<li>Birmingham Museums Trust<\/li>\n<li>The Herbert Art Gallery &amp; Museum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It is expected this research will guide the future manufacture, testing, use &amp; maintenance of enclosures for more sustainable conservation of vulnerable exhibits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The results will first be presented at the Science and Engineering in Arts, Heritage and Archaeology Conference taking place on Tuesday 14 &amp; Wednesday 15 July 2015 at UCL, London.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The Powerpoint presentation for that conference will be emailed to survey respondents who choose to be contacted.
