The Heritage Council and The Library of Trinity College Dublin are\u00a0pleased to offer a nine-month internship in book and paper\u00a0conservation. The internship will be based at Trinity Colege\u00a0Library and will begin in October 2016.
\nThe successful candidate will work under the supervision of the\u00a0Library’s Keeper of Preservation and Conservation and will be\u00a0involved in many aspects of the work carried out by the Department.\u00a0The internship will be based around the conservation of manuscripts\u00a0and books held in the Library’s special collections, as well as\u00a0exhibition preparation, and housing projects. The intern will be\u00a0encouraged to carry out a short research project, which will be\u00a0determined once the internship has begun.
\nCandidates should be recent graduates (within two years) of a
\nrecognised book or paper conservation training program or have\u00a0equivalent experience. The applicant must be eligible to work in\u00a0Ireland, and should demonstrate an interest in conservation in\u00a0Ireland.
\nStipend: Euro20,000 (subject to normal PRSI and PAYE deductions)
\nThe deadline for applications is Friday 15 July 2016 and interviews\u00a0are expected to be held during the week commencing 29 August 2016.\u00a0Candidates should send a letter of interest addressed to the Keeper\u00a0of Preservation and Conservation, describing their conservation\u00a0training and practical experience and why they wish to take up this
\ninternship. They should also confirm their eligibility to work in\u00a0Ireland, and describe their interest in conservation in Ireland and\u00a0Trinity College Library in particular.
