{"id":15158,"date":"2016-06-30T09:02:05","date_gmt":"2016-06-30T14:02:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.conservators-converse.org\/?p=15158"},"modified":"2016-06-30T09:02:05","modified_gmt":"2016-06-30T14:02:05","slug":"job-posting-nysa-historic-conservation-technician","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/resources.culturalheritage.org\/conservators-converse\/2016\/06\/30\/job-posting-nysa-historic-conservation-technician\/","title":{"rendered":"Job Posting: NYSA, Historic Conservation Technician"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">New York State Archives, Office of Cultural Education, State Education Department<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Historic Conservation Technician 2, SG-12 (CSEA-OPERATIONAL)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">LOCATION: Albany<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">SALARY: $40,172<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: July 6, 2016<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The New York State Archives is seeking to fill a Historic Conservation Technician (HCT) 2 position in the Office of Cultural Education.\u00a0 The focus of the position is the digitization of selected records in the Archives holdings for online delivery and in response to research requests.\u00a0 Under the direction of an Archives and Records Management Specialist (ARMS) 2 in the Collections Management Unit, duties of this position will include, but are not limited to, the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Participate in the digitization of selected collections;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Conduct review processes to ensure the quality of resulting digital images and corresponding metadata;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Participate in preservation reformatting activities such as original microfilming and microforms duplication;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Participate in collections management activities such as stacks maintenance, monitoring environmental conditions in the Cultural Education Center, and disaster preparedness and response;
