The scientist will develop and apply new approaches to materials analysis using Orbitrap Velos mass spectrometry and \/or gas chromatography &#8211; mass spectrometry combined with sampling techniques such as pyrolysis, headspace and solid-phase microextraction. It is expected that the candidate will participate in MCI research and technical studies. The successful candidate will have experience in research, professional presentation, and publication.<br \/>\nMCI is a scientific research center of the Smithsonian Institution with the mission to increase and disseminate scientific knowledge that improves preservation and conservation of museum collections and related material, with an emphasis on the collections of the Smithsonian Institution\u2019s museums.
