On February 24-25, 2017, The Edith O\u2019Donnell Institute of Art History at the University of Dallas with the participation of the Dallas Museum of Modern Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center will hold a symposium on \u201cArtists\u2019 Writing on Materials and Techniques\u201d that will bring together art historians, curators and conservators to explore artists\u2019 writings about materials and techniques and the relationship between artists\u2019 textual and visual practices. On March 31- April 1, 2017, the History of Art Department of the University of Pennsylvania  and the Philadelphia Museum of Art will hold a symposium on the topic \u201cObjects of Study: Paper, Ink and the Material Turn\u201d.
