You would promote and advocate the preservation of works of paper in the collection or in the temporary custody of the Gallery, as well as provide advice and expertise concerning the aesthetic, conceptual and physical characteristics of works on paper.<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">Does this sound like the opportunity you\u2019ve been waiting for? If you have the following qualifications we\u2019d love to hear from you!<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in paper conservation from a recognized university or college, plus a minimum of 5 years\u2019 directly related experience in an art museum (or equivalent training and experience).<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of conservation principles, practices, materials and techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations and practices.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of materials and techniques, aesthetic and historical significance of works of art.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the \u201cCode of Ethics and Guidance for Practice\u201d of the Canadian Association for Conservation of Cultural Property (CAC) and of the Canadian Association of Professional Conservators (CAPC).<\/li>\n<li>Ability to perform delicate operations affecting the condition and appearance of works of art; excellent hand-eye co-ordination and manual dexterity.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to conduct research according to established scientific practice; to synthesize and interpret information.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to operate specialized technical and scientific equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent trained, visual discrimination abilities.<\/li>\n<li>Ingenuity and creative problem-solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written, verbal, presentation, consultation and negotiation skills.<\/li>\n<li>A proven ability to work effectively and positively with a diverse team in a highly collaborative environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We invite individuals who reflect the diversity of our visitors to apply by visiting our website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ago.net\/jobs\">www.ago.net\/jobs<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re currently searching for a Conservator specializing in works on paper to join the Conservation team at the AGO.
