You would promote and advocate the preservation of works of paper in the collection or in the temporary custody of the Gallery, as well as provide advice and expertise concerning the aesthetic, conceptual and physical characteristics of works on paper.<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">Does this sound like the opportunity you\u2019ve been waiting for? If you have the following qualifications we\u2019d love to hear from you!<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree from a recognized conservation training program specializing in paper conservation and a number of years directly related experience in paper conservation (or equivalent training and experience).<\/li>\n<li>Comprehensive knowledge of conservation principles, practices, materials and techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the materials and techniques, and the aesthetic and historical significance of works of art.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations and practices.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the \u201cCode of Ethics and Guidance for Practice\u201d of the Canadian Association for Conservation of Cultural Property (CAC) and of the Canadian Association of Professional Conservators (CAPC).<\/li>\n<li>Ability to perform delicate operations affecting the condition and appearance of works of art with precision.<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal and communication skills to interface with public, lenders, staff.<\/li>\n<li>A proven ability to work effectively and positively with a diverse team in a highly collaborative environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"center\">We invite individuals who reflect the diversity of our visitors to apply by visiting our website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ago.net\/jobs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.ago.net\/jobs<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re currently searching for an Assistant Conservator specializing in works on paper to join the Conservation team at the AGO.
