The ACHP\/HUD Secretary\u2019s Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation will honor historic preservation efforts with affordable housing and community revitalization successes. Agencies, developers, and organizations are encouraged to nominate projects or activities that advance the goals of historic preservation while providing affordable housing and\/or expanded economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income families and individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Preference will be given to projects and activities that do the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promote the use of historic buildings for affordable housing, community development, and\/or expanded economic opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Include HUD funds or financing<\/li>\n<li>Meet preservation guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to local community revitalization efforts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is an annual award. <strong>Nominations for the 2017 cycle are due by 11:59 p.m. PDT on March 27, 2017.<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>Nomination details can be viewed at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huduser.gov\/portal\/sites\/default\/files\/pdf\/HUD-Sec-Award-excellence-historic-preservation-2017.pdf\">https:\/\/www.huduser.gov\/portal\/sites\/default\/files\/pdf\/HUD-Sec-Award-excellence-historic-preservation-2017.pdf<\/a>.
