The position also offers overarching support for collections\u00a0 management across the institution. The successful candidate will have experience implementing and administering \u00a0an IPM program, preferably across a large and complex organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES &amp; <\/strong><strong>DU<\/strong><strong>TI<\/strong><strong>E<\/strong><strong>S<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establishes and manages a comprehensive Integrated\u00a0 Pest Management (IPM) program for the<\/li>\n<li>Drafts IPM policy and procedure documents outlining:\n<ul>\n<li>Building-wide monitoring, identification, reporting, and treatment processes<\/li>\n<li>Departmental monitoring and documentation<\/li>\n<li>Best practices for prevention and exclusion \u2013 building infrastructure and housekeeping<\/li>\n<li>Quarantine systems for objects entering and exiting the museum<\/li>\n<li>Pest identification documents<\/li>\n<li>Equipment care and handling for quarantine and anoxic treatments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Researches and establishes building-wide pest monitoring software with updated maps<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates and implements IPM response action plans across the institution<\/li>\n<li>Leads general training on IPM best practices for all staff, including new hires<\/li>\n<li>Leads targeted training for collections care staff and the IPM-Action and IPM-Response teams, including:\n<ul>\n<li>Annual training on pest identification<\/li>\n<li>Annual workshops on key aspects of IPM monitoring, prevention and remediation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Partners with Custodial Services and The Met\u2019s commercial pest management contractors to incorporate IPM best practices<\/li>\n<li>Advises and consults on IPM efforts related to The Met\u2019s food service operation<\/li>\n<li>Advises and consults on IPM requirements for all permanent exhibition and infrastructure modifications<\/li>\n<li>Maintains an IPM intranet site<\/li>\n<li>Creates and maintains pest collection sites<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Continuing education:\n<ul>\n<li>Represents the Met at MuseumPest\/IPM-WG conferences<\/li>\n<li>Initiates research requests to the Department of Scientific Research (DSR) and\/or invites external speakers to understand the effect of pesticides on art objects<\/li>\n<li>Initiates research requests to DSR and\/or \u00a0invites \u00a0external speakers to understand the range of art materials that are safe to freeze<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Drafts reports as needed on topics above<\/li>\n<li>Other related duties and special projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS &amp;
