Kahn in the \u201cDesign\u201d supplement to the March 8, 2018 issue of The New York Times (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/03\/02\/style\/design-plastics-midcentury.html\">\u201cWhen Furniture Fails the Test of Time\u201d  <\/a>), acknowledges the terrible truth about furniture made from experimental plastics\u2014 it discolors, oozes, explodes, melts, and generally falls apart. The only upside to this is the exciting challenges and employment it provides to conservators.
