{"id":2244,"date":"2011-12-30T00:53:17","date_gmt":"2011-12-30T05:53:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.conservators-converse.org\/?p=2244"},"modified":"2011-12-30T00:53:17","modified_gmt":"2011-12-30T05:53:17","slug":"writing-for-conservation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/resources.culturalheritage.org\/conservators-converse\/2011\/12\/30\/writing-for-conservation\/","title":{"rendered":"Writing for Conservation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the relaunch of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jcms-journal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Journal of Conservation and Museum Studies<\/a>\u00a0 in November there is now another entry on the list of conservation e-journals that should be on a <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"keyboard\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jcms-journal.com\/up\/images\/thumbs\/jcms_9_hogg.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"75\" height=\"75\" \/>conservator&#8217;s \u00a0radar. \u00a0You can stay abreast of new issues via RSS feed or updates on your favorite social networking platform.\u00a0 I was particularly happy to see JCMS revitalized as it was the brainchild of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lsa.umich.edu\/sweetland\/aboutus\/people\/faculty\/ci.hoggalanj_ci.detail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alan J. Hogg<\/a>, \u00a0a conservation classmate of mine at University College London.\u00a0 Alan eventually shifted from conservation, obtaining a PhD in Atmospheric Space Science and now works at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lsa.umich.edu\/sweetland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sweetland Center for Writing<\/a> at the University of Michigan where he teaches writing with a focus on presenting scientific research. \u00a0Alan joins the new JCMS editorial board and is well positioned to assist our profession bridge sciences and humanities. \u00a0Alan wrote a short editorial for the latest issue of JCMS entitled <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jcms-journal.com\/article\/view\/26\/28\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Writing About Conservation<\/a><\/em>\u00a0that I think may be useful to emerging conservators as well as experienced professionals.\u00a0 If you aren\u2019t familiar with <em>IMRaD: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion<\/em>.
