{"id":2491,"date":"2012-01-30T16:59:15","date_gmt":"2012-01-30T21:59:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.conservators-converse.org\/?p=2491"},"modified":"2012-01-30T16:59:15","modified_gmt":"2012-01-30T21:59:15","slug":"joint-aic-and-spnhc-sessions-at-spnhc-2012-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/resources.culturalheritage.org\/conservators-converse\/2012\/01\/30\/joint-aic-and-spnhc-sessions-at-spnhc-2012-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"Joint AIC and SPNHC sessions at SPNHC 2012 meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.regonline.com\/custImages\/316124\/SPNHC_logo.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"391\" height=\"225\" \/>The Local Organizing Committee of SPNHC 2012 has opened registration for its upcoming meeting\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/peabody.yale.edu\/collections\/spnhc2012\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Emerging Technology and Innovation in Natural History Collections Management<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0The meeting will be held\u00a0at the Peabody Museum of Natural History at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut \u00a0(June 11-16). \u00a0Early bird registration rates are available through April 6th.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Joint AIC-SPNHC programming<\/strong> &#8211; Of particular interest to conservators, AIC is co-sponsoring an <a href=\"http:\/\/peabody.yale.edu\/collections\/spnhc2012\/oral-and-poster-presentation-sessions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">oral presentation session on <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Preventive Care<\/span><\/a>. \u00a0Additionally, there will be a special poster session entitled\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/peabody.yale.edu\/collections\/spnhc2012\/storage-techniques\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Storage Techniques for Arts, Science, and Humanities Collections<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0commemorate 20 years since SPNHC\u2019s first publication of the seminal work\u00a0<em>Storage of Natural History Collections: Ideas and Practical Solutions<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstracts &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/peabody.yale.edu\/collections\/spnhc2012\/abstract-submission\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Abstract submission<\/a> is open through April 13th for poster and oral sessions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Travel grants available &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Graduate students and emerging professionals can apply for a Fitzgerald Travel Grant designed to assist members with the cost of attending the Society\u2019s annual meeting.
