The National Council for\u00a0Preservation Education (NCPE) launched PER in 2007 as part of its mission to\u00a0exchange and disseminate information and ideas concerning historic environment education,\u00a0current developments and innovations in conservation, and the improvement of historic\u00a0environment education programs and endeavors in the United States and abroad.<br \/>\nExamples of previously published articles include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;Landscape\u00a0Preservation Education in the United States&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Industrial\u00a0Archaeology and Brazilian Industrial Heritage&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Current Trends in\u00a0Historic Preservation Education at the Primary and Secondary School Levels&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Meiji Restorations:\u00a0Defining Preservation, Education, and Architecture for Modern Japan&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;&#8216;So, Can You Revit?&#8217;\u00a0Historic Preservation Design Education and Digital Media&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;The Status of Professional Career\u00a0Openings in Historic Preservation in the United States&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;The Value of a\u00a0Preservation Field School Learning Experience&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Reflections on Eight\u00a0Semesters of Employing Service Learning in an Undergraduate Historic\u00a0Preservation Course&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Preservation\u00a0Engineering: Framing a New Curriculum&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Domesticating the &#8216;National\u00a0Optic&#8217; after the Third Reich: Preservation and Morale Building in Postwar\u00a0West Germany&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Learning Among\u00a0Friends: Using Heritage-Based Educational Practices to Improve\u00a0Preservation Law Pedagogy&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>We also encourage\u00a0readers with an interest and expertise in the topics covered in previous PER\u00a0volumes to consider writing a PER Forum essay.<\/b>\u00a0The PER Forum contains\u00a0short\u00a0essays (800-1000 words) that respond to or critique reports or articles in\u00a0previous volumes of the journal and encourage a constructive and scholarly\u00a0dialogue. The deadline\u00a0for PER Forum contributions is May 1, 2014.<br \/>\n<b>All manuscripts and\u00a0Forum essays should be submitted by email\u00a0<\/b>as an MS Word or PDF attachment\u00a0to the co-editors of PER: Jeremy Wells (<a href=\"mailto:jwells@rwu.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">jwells [at] rwu.edu<\/a>) and Rebecca\u00a0Sheppard\u00a0(<a href=\"mailto:rjshep@udel.edu\">rjshep [at] udel.edu<\/a>).\u00a0Refer to\u00a0the journal\u2019s publication guidelines at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncpe.us\/publications\/manuscript-submission-guidelines\">www.ncpe.us\/publications\/manuscript-submission-guidelines<\/a>\u00a0for more information. All manuscripts are peer\u00a0reviewed in a double-blind process while Forum essays\u00a0may be subject to peer\u00a0review on a case-by-case basis.
