Marcus writing in The Wall Street Journal issue of March 15-16, 2014 (\u201cLooking Up at Veronese\u2019s Grandeur\u201d), after years of taking a back seat to Titian and Tintoretto because his works are so large as to be extremely difficult to transport, Paolo Veronese will have an exhibit at the National Gallery London from March \u2013 June 2014. Marcus quotes Xavier Salomon, the exhibit\u2019s curator as saying that one important reason the show can be mounted today is \u201cwe now know how those large paintings can be preserved properly during transportation.\u201d  What he is really saying is \u201cthank you conservators\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to J.S.
