{"id":34,"date":"2012-03-05T17:20:36","date_gmt":"2012-03-05T17:20:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cool.conservation-us.org\/defgh\/?page_id=34"},"modified":"2017-03-07T16:49:06","modified_gmt":"2017-03-07T16:49:06","slug":"resources","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/resources.culturalheritage.org\/disaster\/resources\/","title":{"rendered":"Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Listed below are some additional sources for disaster planning information that are available on the Web.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/resources.culturalheritage.org\/defgh\/?page_id=22#Resources\">Baltimore Academic Libraries Consortium Disaster Resources<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>Libraries of eight local colleges and universities in the Baltimore area.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/resources.culturalheritage.org\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>CoOL &#8211; Conservation OnLine<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0 CoOL, a project of the Foundation of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (FAIC), is a full text library of conservation information, covering a wide spectrum of topics of interest to those involved with the conservation of library, archives, and museum materials.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/preservation\/\" target=\"_blank\">Library of Congress Preservation Directorate<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0 The Preservation Directorate has a strong outreach program and provides information about preservation to the Congress, government agencies, other libraries, both national and international, and to the general public.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.conservation-wiki.com\/wiki\/Emergency_Preparedness_%26_Response\" target=\"_blank\">Conservation Wiki Emergency Preparedness and Response section<\/a><\/strong> This section of AIC&#8217;s Conservation Wiki contains continually updated information about emergency preparedness, emergency planning, developing a disaster plan, emergency response, and collections salvage and recovery, and also includes a bibliography of resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Solinet<\/strong>\u00a0 The Southeastern Library Network, Inc. is a not-for-profit library cooperative providing resource sharing for the educational, cultural, and economic advancement of the southeastern United States (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia) and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">(This network is now a member organization called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lyrasis.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">LYRASIS<\/a>.\u00a0LYRASIS was created in 2009 from the merger of SOLINET and PALINET. NELINET, the New England library network, also merged into LYRASIS in late 2009.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dia.org\/museum_info\/statewide_services\/disaster.asp\" target=\"new\"><strong>Michigan Alliance for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage Disaster Preparedness<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Information and plans for organizations and individuals who collect art objects, books, papers, and other valuable cultural artifacts. The Michigan Alliance for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage is a statewide 501(c)(3) organization composed of libraries, archives, museums, historical societies and preservation networks that was founded in October 1988 with the support of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.michiganhumanities.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Michigan Humanities Council<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Listed below are some additional sources for disaster planning information that are available on the Web.
