{"id":4,"date":"2015-08-13T18:49:43","date_gmt":"2015-08-13T18:49:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/resources.culturalheritage.org\/pmg-topics\/?page_id=4"},"modified":"2025-10-16T18:22:57","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T18:22:57","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/resources.culturalheritage.org\/pmg-topics\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Photographic Materials Group (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.culturalheritage.org\/membership\/groups-and-networks\/photographic-materials-group\">PMG<\/a>) of the American Institute for Conservation (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.culturalheritage.org\/\">AIC<\/a>) publishes\u00a0<em>Topics in Photographic Preservation\u00a0<\/em>biennially. \u00a0It is a compilation of papers presented at PMG sessions during the annual meetings of the AIC and during PMG\u00a0biennial\u00a0winter meetings<em>, <\/em>but can also contain other submissions related to photographic materials. \u00a0Published research and treatment is authored by scientists, conservators, and historians\u00a0in the field. \u00a0Although contributors are trained professionals, none of the papers in <em>Topics<\/em> are peer reviewed.<\/p>\n<p>PMG was formed with a signed article of incorporation in August 1979. Initially, photographic materials conservators met annually at the general AIC meetings and also at an annual winter meeting specific to photographic materials.
