Exhibitions:
- Dayanita Singh (born 1961): Silver gelatin prints and one multi-media installation curated by AIC curator Michal Raz-Russo (See museum website http://www.artic.edu/exhibition/dayanita-singh)
- Crates containing works selected for the exhibition will arrive the prior week will be opened and inspected. Condition reports will be prepared by conservation and registration departments
- Gallery installation preparation, including lighting wall labels etc. will be finalized
- Prints installed in the galleries in collaboration with the artist who will be present during the week
- Exhibition opens to the general public March 1, 2014
Selections from the permanent collection
- Led by Liz Siegel, the planning process for rotating works in and out of “Gallery 10” will be initiated (Gallery 10 is an exhibition space permanently devoted to photographs). Exhibition will open to the general public on May 10, 2014.
- The checklist of newly exhibited items will be finalized in collaboration with conservation, registration and curatorial departments
- The permanent collection at the AIC represents the entire history of photography containing daguerreotypes to contemporary processes
- Wall labels and other didactic materials will be planned
“Fragmentation” (working title)
- This exhibition is the first of three that will showcase modern art that has been collected in all the museum’s departments
- This planned exhibition is a collaboration between Liz Siegel and Sarah Oelher, curator of American Art, among others.
- Planning is at an early stage, scheduled meetings will cover broad exhibition themes, schedules, design consideration, checklist of art works, etc.
- Potential conservation issues for key objects will be discussed.
