Funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Museum of Modern Art’s Thomas Walther project is an initiative to foster a deeper level of collaboration between photograph conservators and curators. The collection consists of over 300 modernist photographs that were accessioned by the museum in 2001. Curators, conservators and scientists have examined this group closely revealing new levels of meaning and scholarly impact. This work, including essays by advising conservators and scholars, will be published in 2015.
