Abstract
What is the current technology that is being used to monitor temperature, humidity, and gaseous pollution in museums, libraries and archives? A kit that the Minnesota Historical Society has been circulating will be available to examine and experiences with it briefly discussed. An informal discussion will encourage the exchange of information and experiences about instruments, passive monitors, and other methods that are being used to monitor and influence exhibit and storage environments, such as:
Electronic hygrometers v. mechanical psychrometers
Hygrothermographs v. data loggers
CCI light damage slide rule
Test papers for gaseous pollutants
Metal coupons for testing pollution
Draeger tubes and other cartridge type monitors
Blue wool cards
Humidity indicator cards
