Arne Johnson
Abstract
Mr. Johnson will summarize the recent research that he and others are doing into the vibratory effects of musical events and other loud noise events on museum collections. This includes concerts in/near galleries and even NASCAR and Grand Prix street races near museums. Arne and an international team of experts are conducting testing and plan to issue a “good practice guide for musical events at museums” by Fall 2024. Arne will also briefly highlight available resources about construction vibrations and their effects on museum collections.
